SEUSSICAL is a musical based on the books of Dr. Seuss that debuted on Broadway in 2000. This fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza begins with the mischievous Cat in the Hat proclaiming

"I can see that you’ve got quite a mind for your age!
Why, one Think and you dragged me right onto the stage!
Now, I’m here, there is no telling what may ensue
With a Cat such as me, and a Thinker like you!"

Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On This Island, and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville! These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks”! As each story unfolds you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’s subtle themes are; making this musical one that appeals to all ages. The score emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk and includes songs with titles familiar to generations of Dr. Seuss fans such as

"Oh, The Thinks You Can Think," "Horton Hears A Who," "Biggest Blame Fool," "It's Possible (McElligot's Pool)," "Amayzing Mayzie," "How Lucky You Are," "The Circus McGurkus," "Solla Sollew," "The Who's Christmas Pagaent," and "Green Eggs And Ham."

With Ryker Johnson and Jacob Woll (JoJo/Boy), Robert Sholty (Horton), Allison Appell (Gertrude), Kevin Hammond (Cat in the Hat), Mike Loretto (Mayor), Melissa Heinrich (Mrs. Mayor), Jennifer Costa (Sour Kangaroo), Annika Bergman (Marshall of Court), Brian Olkowski (Vlad Vladikoff), Jacob Judd (Judge Yertyl), Marisa Borowitz (Maisy), Sarah Williams (Bird Girl), Erin Reis (Bird Girl), Lindsey Garber (Bird Girl), Ron Pickett (Wickersham), Drew Fowler (Wickersham), Michael Wells (Wickersham), Marc Simon (Ensemble), Lauren McNutt (Ensemble), Imani Wilson (Ensemble), Max DeSantis (Ensemble), Madison Brinnon (Ensemble), and Savannah Stratton (Ensemble).

The production staff for SEUSSICAL includes Kathleen Breedveld (Producer), Eric Neiman (Director), Min Khang (Musical Director), and Liz Caffrey (Choreographer).

Performances are 8pm Fridays/Saturdays and 2pm Sundays Feb 20 - Mar 15, 2009 (12 performances over 4 weekends) at the Tri-Valley Rep Studio Theatre, 1048 Serpentine Lane, Suite 309, Pleasanton, CA 94566.

Tickets are $25 for adults (18-60), $22 for seniors (60+), $20 for juniors (under 18), and $19 each for groups purchasing 20 or more tickets.
